About CWM

A Bit About Us

Contrary to popular stereotypes, we don't have any tumbleweeds blowing by our founding offices in Central Texas, and your website shouldn't, either. Founded to utilize the world's number one content management system, Joomla, Cory Webb Media offers a wide variety of website development services. From building a custom site from the ground up, creating custom Joomla extensions, offering custom Joomla templates, and more, we can make sure your website traffic mimics anything but the open range.

The Company

Lab experiments aside, the basis of our expertise in CMS begins in 2003 with our head problem solver and founder, Cory Webb, researching the best CMS platforms for a work project as a software engineer. With its intuitive and powerful interface, what would be known later as Joomla became the helm of his CMS expertise as he built dozens of other sites with it, created and managed a "how to" website, and published a successful, informative book. Cory Webb Media was founded in 2008 to meet the growing need for Joomla-based websites and expertise among the world-wide web. Today, we continue to work with a myriad of clients, from start-ups to Fortune 500 giants, who have many of the same CMS needs that we can proudly meet as Joomla specialists.

Cory Webb

Visionary & Head Problem Solver

He's the man behind the curtain, but you'll find that he's actually more. As founder of Cory Webb Media, Cory Webb's research and expertise using Joomla fuels the premise of our company, as well as his commitment to help others in their website development needs. His tutorials, tips, and techniques for his first site, HowtoJoomla.net, has helped thousands navigate Joomla better, and numerous clients have reaped the reward of his hard work with newly built and hard-working Joomla websites. In 2009, his book, Beginning Joomla Website Development (Wrox), found its way onto national bookstore shelves as an easy-to-understand guide to building a website with Joomla.

Cory holds an MBA from Baylor University and an undergraduate Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Texas. He resides in Waco, Texas with his wife, Carly, and three children Lucy, Miles, and Sadie.

James Hafner

James Hafner

Strategizer Extraordinaire

With unconquered internet lands looming in front of you, James Hafner definitely isn't what you'd expect as your guide on your website walkabout. His contagious enthusiasm for connecting the process with the customer keeps our clients happy and heard, and most find they even forget that they're navigating unfamiliar tech-territories while working with him. Humbly, James might attribute his likability to his extravagant taste in coffee, but we know better. Our clients' ease can be measured by his longtime expertise with Joomla while it was part of the Mambo project, coupled with his extensive experience with web developments and consulting for hundreds of organizations. James has also both conducted and participated in Joomla workshops for Open Source Training, and is currently a contributer at HowtoJoomla.net.

With a B.A. in Electronic Arts from Missouri State University, James also works alongside his wife, Elizabeth, managing Vignette Photography in Austin, Texas.
