Cory Webb Media started in 2008 with a vision for providing world class web design and development services to help organizations large and small get up and running with open source content management systems (CMS). Later that year, Cory was approached by Wrox Press about writing a book to help beginners learn to build websites with Joomla, and he set out to write Beginning Joomla Web Site Development, which was published in April, 2009.
Over the next 4 years, the team grew with the addition of 2 in-house developers, an in-house designer, and multiple contractors. Cory and the team had the good fortune to have opportunities to work with many great organizations building amazing websites and web applications
When Cory was recruited to work for Sears Holdings Corporation (SHC) in 2013, he and the team decided that they would all make the move to join a new team at SHC. The team all went their separate ways over the next couple of years, and Cory returned to Cory Webb Media in 2015 after 2 successful years with SHC.
Since 2009, Cory has spoken at over 15 open source conferences including 13 Joomla Days, the first ever Joomla World Conference, and an open source conference called Open Camp. He has also taught multiple Joomla training classes for OSTraining in Austin, Dallas, and New York City. Most recently, Cory has finished producing 4 video series for OSTraining.com on how to build Joomla modules, plugins, and components.
