Joomla 1.6 ACL Slides from Joomla Day New England 2011

Joomla 1.6 ACL Slides from Joomla Day New England 2011

James and I traveled to Brattleboro, Vermont this past weekend to attend Joomla Day New England 2011, where I had the opportunity to present Joomla 1.6 ACL (slides attached) to a great group of Joomla enthusiasts. Over 100 people from all over New England descended upon Brattleboro for this year's Joomla Day, and they all experienced a great day of learning about their favorite open source CMS and meeting and catching up with fellow Joomla fans. Special thanks to Jen Kramer for organizing the event and Marlboro College for hosting, as well as all of the great sponsors.

When I wasn't presenting, I attended 3 other great sessions: Introducing Molajo and jZen Garden by Matt Thomas, Comparing Joomla CCK's by Justin Herrin, and Mobilize Your Joomla Site by Kyle Ledbetter. All three did a great job presenting on their topics. After hearing Matt's presentation, I'm excited to see some of the cool features in Molajo. Justin made a great comparison of Zoo and K2, and it was great hearing about mobile development from one of the leading mobile template developers in the community.

The only disappointment was the lack of snow. I flew in all the way from Texas, and I was told that there would be snow. I even borrowed a pair of warm gloves from my dad for the trip, and I never even got to use them. Maybe next year Jen will learn how to control the weather and show this Texas boy what real snow looks like.
